VENUS VENUS 5.Om HALF CABIN MK 11
Essentially a similar boat to the V-Sea, the Venus offers 1.80m bunks with an optional in-fill section to convert to a large double bunk. Bunk
cushions and accessory side shelves and back rests are covered in matching long wearing fabrics. The cabin also has clear side windows.Boarding steps either side of the engine pod are standard and very helpful when boarding the
boat from a beach. Also standard, is a padded facing on the full length side pocket, including aluminium stair tread capping to allow the side pocket facing to be used as a step. In the standard version of the Venus, a
fold-down bench style aft lounge is fitted as shown in the photograph of the V-Sea. The Venus photographed for this brochure has been fitted with an optional wrap-around style lounge that is extremely popular with customers. It is
a comfortable lounge that can be removed from the boat completely if required for serious fishing.
PERFORMANCE
The 5.Om V-Sea and Venus hulls are extremely buoyant aft and well capable of carrying larger horsepower than is required for top performance. The maximum recommended horsepower
is 90HP, with a 70 providing more than adequate performance with average loading.
Tested
with a standard 90HP Evinrude two stroke engine, these boats
have a top speed of 40 knots (74 Km/h), and an optimum cruise
of 31 knots (57.5 Km/h) at 4000 rpm. They can he backed off to
3500 in rough weather when they will still maintain a clean planing
attitude at 25 knots. Troll speeds of 6.5 knots are achieved
at 1600 rpm.
The handling is brilliant, and if used for skiing or
other water sports, you will be delighted with their ability to turn hard and their acceleration from a standing start. The now legendary rough water performance of this hull can be attributed to three factors. The first is the
basic shape of the hull with fine cutting edges forward and lots of lift in the upper bow forms.
The second is the great buoyancy aft which allows the
boat to remain high on plane when forced off the pace by very
rough conditions. In this situation, the ability of the hull
to run at a flat attitude means that all the best cutting forms
are kept down in contact with the water where they can do their
work.
Finally, compare the weight of
any Seafarer boat with any competitors' product of similar size.
In some cases a Seafarer boat will weigh 50 percent more. The
boats are built this way so they will outlast anything else,
but the big bonus is that weight contributes greatly to seaworthiness
and stability at rest.
Drive the others first and then drive our boats as hard
as they can go. After you get used to the humps and rattles of
other brands, experience the quiet, civilised ride delivered
by our solid, well made Seafarer boat. You'll love it.
