VENOM 6.2

The Seafarer 6.2m Sports Console Venom completely redefines the meaning of the words centre console. This huge 6.2 x 2.4 metre hull takes all of the outstanding innovations from the enormously successful Vamp, Vogue and Victory models, then adds storage, features, style and performance to produce a new model that has no equal anywhere in the Australian boating industry.
The Venom is the first of the extended pod models to offer a twin engine well. The boating press raved about the response to power evident in all of the new Seafarer flush pod models, but this one takes the concept even further. Where extended pods have often lacked buoyancy aft, this boat was tested with five men on board, 200 litres of fuel in the tank and twin 115hp Evinrudes on the back, and the chines were just resting in the water.
With the twin 115hp engines, the Venom delivered a top speed of 91.7 km/hr (57 Mph), and it is on full plane and cruising easily at just 280Orpm, when it is traveling across the water at 38.6 Km/h (24 Mph). For those who cross bars, the acceleration of this rig is absolutely stunning. With just one 115 running the top speed was 56.3 Km/h (35 Mph)
This level of performance demonstrates how responsive to power this hull can be, and twin 70-90hp rigs will be a popular option with offshore fishermen. A standard underfloor tank of 240 litre capacity gives the boat enormous range, and an optional 350 litre tank is available if required.
  Rough water performance takes up where the Victory left off. The hull has great buoyancy throughout, with plenty of lift forward to cope with close set seas, excellent low speed planing ability for really rough conditions, and a ride over chop you have to experience to believe. In the rough, the Venom is just sensational.
  Seafarer has taken full advantage of the size of this boat to build-in an enormous amount of storage. Up front the rope locker is so big it carries a divider down the centre, which allows you to either stow a huge amount of rope in a single length, or set up different anchoring rigs in each bin.
  A horseshoe shaped scat forward conceals three large storage bins, then there's another under the forward console scat. Two waterproof storage spaces have been built in to the coaming either side of the console, and there is a two metre kill tank under the foredeck floor.
 Side pockets run the length of the boat with separate rod and gaff storage, then there are two shorter side pockets set a little higher in the coaming either side. Two large wells are set into the aft quarter decks, one of which is a live well, although both can be live wells if required.
 The standard helm seating is a tram style lounge with reversible back and a huge amount of storage under, and a further large storage space can be found inside the console itself where dedicated space is also available for batteries, EPIRB, fire extinguisher and life jackets.
As is always the case with seafarer models, any of the storage spaces can be insulated, With the console front seat designed to be used as an ice box.
  The basic boat comes with seating for six adults which can be increased to accommodate ten if the optional rear drop, down lounge is fitted. Seating options include a burn bolster style helm scat, a straight bench with storage under, or pedestal mounted buckets.
  The console of this boat is a work of art that will he greatly appreciated by experienced boaters who have been frustrated by some of the helm designs of the past. Everything has its place in this complex moulding, and every single thing on the display area is easy to see and reach.
  Controls include a big cruiser style stainless wheel and twin binnacle mounted throttles set within easy reach. All switches are set around the wheel rim and are clearly labeled. Seafarer has its own exclusive gauges which are used in factory pre-rigs, and all 10 of them locate in the top panel immediately below the screen base. Below this are dedicated spaces for a compass and thru-mounted sounder/GPS. Two handy drink holders sit behind a passenger grab rail, then below that a stereo/cassette can be thru-mounted. The two way radio thru-mounts immediately below the wheel where it is within easy reach of the helmsman. Additional stainless steel power points have been allowed for to enable use of spotlights and any other electronics you want to use.
 A brand new Targa with Bimini has been designed for the Venom, featuring a rocket launcher for further rod storage and a separate with the console front seat designed to be used as an ice box.
   As is always the case with Seafarer models, all of the stainless work on the hull is the best you can buy, and everything is the correct size and strength for the size of the boat. Cockpit hand rails and cleats are offset and recessed to keep the smoothest possible profile, and you will find hand support wherever you need it.
  In addition to the very comprehensive list of options available for Seafarer boats in general, no less than 18 additional options have been created for this model alone. Not the least of these is a full set of covers that will allow you to put up as much, or as little protection as you need at any time. The forward set of covers and clears with zip-out sections will completely enclose the front half of the boat for running in foul weather, and the complete set allows the boat to be converted to a full carnper.
  We recommend that you consider a thru-hull Lowrance transducer (or transducers) installation, according to your needs, as this will greatly enhance the performance of your echo sounder. The Venom is in a class if its own. There has never been a boat like it in terms of design, features and all round performance.
