W hen you pick up the brochure for the Seafarer boat that has taken your eye, you will find a list of standard inclusions and a list of custom options available with that model. This is a basic list and by no means the full list of stock and custom options available. Nor does it describe the more complex options in detail. This page sets out to give you a feel for some of the more complex options, a general idea of how can customise Seafarer boat.

Most things are best done in the factory as a boat is being built, while other things can be added later. If you are operating to a tight budget, we suggest that you put together a list that includes everything you want, then work through it with your dealer to come up with a short list of essentials that need to go in as the hull is being built, then add the other items as finances permit.

Examples of jobs that must be done in the factory are all options where thru-skin fittings are involved, such as live bait well plumbing, pickups for deck wash systems, installing toilets and so on.

Electronics are also best fitted when the basic wiring system is coming together so they become an integrated part of your electrical system. Seafarer now fits a full wiring loom (the same way a modem car's electrical system is set up), as all models with the exception of the Vogue and Varnp are being assembled. You simply plug in to an existing connection.

By way of example, many people use a plastic thru-hull fitting to install live bait p rnp systems, deck wash and pump-out toilets. The inlet pipe in the skin of the hull to the pump is extremely vulnerable, and if fractured or broken, or seals fail, water can pour straight into your boat. In Seafarer boats all thru- hull fittings are made from bronze, with a ball valve fitted immediately side the skin of the boat. The bronze pipe won't break, but if anything else Is, you can by simply s a typical example of the way Seafarer builds and outfits its boats.

It is important to know that you can have your Seafarer boat completely fitted out in the factory with options that meet the same standards of excellence and quality that you find in the basic construction of your Seafarer boat. When the boat is fitted out anywhere else, it is unlikely that the parts and accessories will be of the same standard as genuine Seafarer parts and accessories.

If you do specify a full factory fitout when ordering a boat from your Seafarer dealer, after placing the order, phone the factory and confirm the details of your order. This eliminates the possibility of errors being made and assures you that you are getting what you have paid for.

The level of standard fitup varies from model to model, with various items being optional in some models and part of the standard fitup in others. Check your model brochure for details (see "request brochures" page on how to request your brochure).
